In this article, we seek to demonstrate the presence of oral expression memory in the teaching of history. We are concerned with the articulation of oral manifestation of memory with applied oral history according to the research line of the Núcleo de Estudos em História Oral - NEHO / USP. The consequence of the above was to offer alternative paths for history teachers wishing to perform oral history approaches from the classroom in elementary and high school. We highlight the narrative genres - already found in academic research and oral history handbooks - capable of mobilizing students' historical sensitivity beyond official documents with general prescriptions: life oral history, thematic oral history, testimonial oral history and oral tradition.
