Therefore, a quantitative study was carried out with 139 students. Applied instruments: Self-Efficacy Scale in Higher Education, Subjective School Well-being Scale and sociodemographic questionnaire, and performance was measured by the result in the Progress Test. Data submitted to statistical analysis revealed that self-efficacy in higher education and subjective well-being were significantly correlated, higher levels of negative affect were associated with lower levels of satisfaction with the school and lower self-efficacy. There was a predictive relationship between positive affect and academic performance. It is concluded that positive experiences in medical education are important for increasing self-efficacy in learning and for better academic achievement.
