Information and Communication Technologies have an increasingly influence in the health care system and the significant increase in the use of Teleconsultation reflects this. The benefits of Teleconsultation are unquestionable, since it helps to face the contemporary challenges that plague health systems around the world. However, its growing use emphasizes the importance of safeguarding ethical principles related to autonomy, equity, privacy and the relationship between the patient and the health professional. This article intends to stimulate a reflection on the ethical challenges that arise before, during and after the use of Teleconsultation, with the aim of optimizing and shaping its use.
