Abstract

The label Feminist Foreign Policy (FFP) first began to be used in the Global North and then in Latin America, adopted by States that had already incorporated a gender approach into their foreign policies. Unlike their gender-responsive Global North counterparts (including FFPs), in which the diffusion of ideas and resources tends to be unidirectional and asymmetrical, from North to South, Latin Americans are largely used as tools to promote gender equality within their own national communities and are responsive to local feminist demands. I support this argument by examining the proposals of the three Latin American FFPs: those of Mexico, Chile, and Colombia.
