The mandatory curricularization of extension activities in undergraduate programs, established by Resolution 07/2018, fulfills strategy 12.7 of the National Education Plan and represents a milestone for several Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). This process involves both contradictions and consensus regarding what defines extension practices, while also demanding curricular reform to integrate extension meaningfully into pedagogical projects. This article presents an extension experience conducted in Curitiba, Brazil, based on a model where extension acts as an integrative element between teaching and research at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Carried out between 2020 and 2024, the course involved students from Administration and other programs who participated in a project with homeless communities in the city center. The experience demonstrates how the inclusion of graduate studies in the extension curricularization process strengthens the role of university extension by shifting from a separate department to a central axis within the Institutional Development Plan. This shift enhances the impact of teaching and research on the surrounding community and fosters academic training more deeply connected to social realities, particularly in Administration programs.
