This article aims to define the concept of educational press in the historiography of education, differentiating it from other types of periodical press specializing in education, such as pedagogical, educational, student, and education and teaching presses. Based on a literature review, we discuss the uses of the term and its implications for historical research. It was found that the lack of conceptual systematization generates confusion that compromises the understanding and appreciation of these publications. The results indicate that the educational press constitutes its own typology, focused on school practices and methodologies. It is concluded that its delimitation strengthens historiography and reinforces its preservation as educational bibliographic heritage.
