This article analyzes transparency and access to information within the framework of the Programa Dinheiro Direto na Escola (PDDE – Direct Money to School Program), focusing on the tools provided by the National Fund for Education Development (FNDE) and the Ministry of Education (MEC), as well as how school principals from the municipal networks of Porto Alegre/RS and Salvador/BA make use of these tools. Data were collected through questionnaires and interviews with school principals and reveal that, although there is some knowledge and use of official portals, significant gaps remain in communication with the school community. The results of the qualitative research point to both good practices and limitations that hinder effective public disclosure and social oversight of resources. The analysis highlights the importance of training and monitoring policies to strengthen a culture of transparency in the school environment.
