This article discusses the Linguistic Atlas of Paraná – ALPR (Aguilera, 1994) and the Linguistic Atlas of Paraná II – ALPR II (Altino, 2007) as two complementary moments in Brazilian Dialectology. Based on these works, the text examines the methodologies employed, the theoretical and methodological changes between the two volumes, and the incorporation of Dialectometry as a quantitative instrument of linguistic analysis. It also analyzes the modernization and digitization of the collection, as well as the relevance of these initiatives in the panorama of national Geolinguistics, particularly in the context of the Linguistic Atlas of Brazil Project – ALiB. The study highlights the scientific continuity between the two phases of the Paraná atlas and its contribution to the strengthening of the Brazilian dialectological school.
