Abstract

To contribute to discussions on Active Methodologies based on student autonomy, this article presents a project teaching strategy in Architecture and Urbanism, in which the use of the specialized language of drawing is oriented toward communication. The question is raised: is it possible to transform communication and information transfer into educational processes? It is proposed that learning structured by communication mediates current conflicts in teaching relationships, converting the sharing and negotiation of meanings into a pedagogical focus. The article is organized into four sections: the discussion on the contradictions of specialized language; the presentation of the theoretical framework of communication and information science; the methodological contributions from narrative study for project teaching; and reflections arising from empirical experiences on researching and sharing knowledge in contemporary times.
