This article aims to report the experience of using the active methodology Peer Instruction combined with the Plickers application in classes of Middle School and High School at a public school located in the municipality of Santo Antônio de Pádua – RJ. The research approach was qualitative and quantitative, involving three classes of Middle School (Portuguese discipline) and two classes of High School (Biology and English Language disciplines), comprising a total of 142 students and three teachers. A continuing education course was offered to the institution's teachers, which served as the basis for the practical activities carried out in the classroom as reported in this study. The analysis of the results, taking into account the students' performance and the perception of teachers and students regarding the activities carried out, indicates that the application of the Peer Instruction methodology together with the use of the Plickers application at the mentioned level of education resulted in greater interaction among students during classes and favored the teaching and learning process, promoting more significant learning.
