SARS-CoV-2 in Brazil and the psychosocial repercussions on male health: a socio-historical study

Resumen

Objective: To analyze the psychosomal repercussions of the pandemic of the new Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) on the health of men residing in Brazil. Method: Qualitative socio-historical study carried out with 200 men through an online survey between March and April across the country. The data were submitted to methodological analysis by the Collective Subject Discourse and anchored in the theoretical framework of epidemic disease proposed by Charles Rosemberg. Results: The repercussions evidenced were the changes and the emergence of new habits due to the pandemic; malaise in the family; damage to affective and sexual relationships; damage to marital relations; job insecurity and psychological distress. Conclusion: The pandemic context of the new Coronavirus brought repercussions of different dimensions that compromised the health of men residing in Brazil.
