This article discusses the understanding of school violence and the actions to confront it developed within the educational process. The main objective of the study is to analyze the Municipal Education Plans of the Middle Amazon River Region regarding school violence. The methodology used consisted of conducting a qualitative research, using bibliographic and documentary research as procedural methods, where the Municipal Education Plans of the municipalities of Barreirinha, Nhamundá and Boa Vista do Ramos – all located in the state of Amazonas – were analyzed. The results demonstrate that these documents address the issue of violence in the educational context in a superficial and fragmented manner, being restricted to actions and strategies aimed at inclusion and confronting situations of violence through the participation of public agencies such as social welfare. It also indicates that public educational policies aimed at the issue of violence in the Amazon context are ineffective. It is concluded that school violence is a multifaceted and complex phenomenon, rooted in the social and cultural structure of the country. In view of this, it is necessary to put into practice the proposals included in the Municipal Education Plans, in an intersectoral field, involving curricular components, teaching practice and public policies.
