This text aims to analyze the motivation characteristics of Physics extension projects, iIt seeks to understand the contributions of the actions carried out by the project and how they could enhance the field of study and the university setting. Adopting a qualitative approach, an integrative review was conducted to identify gaps and propose ideas for extension activities found in articles published in Portuguese, regardless of the date, and developed in Brazil in the field of Physics and Natural Sciences. In general, extension initiatives can yield significant results in advancing teaching and learning methodologies, improving the training of active and prospective teachers, and stimulating students' interest in the field of Exact Sciences, especially Physics. This is particularly important given the shortage of students entering higher education in Physics, leading to a shortage of qualified professionals. The integration of extension activities into the curriculum represents an important step in enriching the training of future educators and strengthening the interaction between the community and the university. The publication of reports on extension activities developed in universities is essential to increase visibility, reinforce their importance, and facilitate the exchange of experiences among extension professionals nationwide.
