The "Mexico SciELObservatory” project of open science focuses on evaluating the adoption of Open Science practices within the SciELO Mexico collection, in the context of academic and scientific journals. The study addresses how these journals implement Open Science policies in relation to the early publication of manuscripts, accessibility of research data and transparency in peer review. Using a descriptive analysis methodology, the study examines specific editorial policies related to Open Science in 161 active SciELO Mexico journals, classifying them according to their level of compliance.
The results indicate that the majority of the journals have an incipient or null degree of implementation of these policies, with only a minority showing moderate development. The discussion of the study highlights the need to strengthen editorial infrastructures and promote greater integration of Open Science principles to improve transparency and access to scientific research in Mexico.
