The traditional conception of higher education states that universities only train future professionals, no matter if they receive adequate preparation in scientific research, a fundamental activity in the construction of a society of knowledge. In this way, the purpose of this study was to find out the attitude towards research of high school graduates in the area of administration and psychology at a private university in Metropolitan Lima during 2018. In a quantitative and descriptive research, 152 high school graduates were evaluated by using the attitude scale for scientific research through a structured questionnaire and the application of the Likert´s scale. The results indicate that psychology students show a positive attitude towards scientific research, while administration graduates show a negative attitude to it, basically due to their academic training. Regarding the subscales towards scientific training, scientific interest and development of investigative capacities, the differences are also significant.
