The number of Indigenous students in Brazilian higher education has significantly increased in the last decade. In this paper, we analyze the creation of a specific admission program for Indigenous candidates implemented at the State University of Campinas in 2018, as part of a broader affirmative action program. We explore its connections and differences with the debate about quotas for Black students, as well as it’s articulation within the national and international arena of affirmative actions in higher education.
