In this article, we reflected on the oral history inscribed in the digital society. Therefore, the change from analogical to digital ambience was analyzed in order to locate new theoretical and empirical problems. In this way, operations in oral history projects in the present time gained prominence. Recognizing the theoretical, procedural and empirical diferences on the field, part of the authors of different generations and conceptions that dealt with the oral history involved in the digital society were referenced. Moreover, arguments from authors of digital humanities, digital history and digital public history were mentioned. The article has been organized into two sections: “Oral history in the Digital Society”, in which the link between technologies and the institutionalization of oral history from the analogue to the digital world were developed, in addition to “Communities in the Digital World”, which responded to the challenges of oral history made in the digital society.
