The present work focuses on a theoretical/bibliographical discussion that will investigate the academic production of articles centered on teaching practices guided by an anti-racist education and on the implications of these actions in the school as a public institution for the formation of social subjects. The objective is to amalgamate in the work, from the analysis of the selected scientific productions, the educational potentialities and obstacles faced in the school. It is understood that such works can reverberate in the awareness of teachers and encourage anti-racist practices from the school, which is invested with greater importance when we are faced with a Brazilian society marked by the existence and perpetuity of structural racism. Therefore, when researching anti-racist educational practices and the school as a school institution, inserted in a contemporary social context, an anti-racist potential is evident from the social reproduction in the dialogue between the historical structure and current contextual practices. Moreover, obstacles are found when the historical dimension is erased from the contemporary system of practices.
