This article aims to discover the seminal works on the subject: emotions and Vygotsky, through a co-citation matrix, using bibliometrics and the collection of documents from the Web of Science repository. It was searched for the keywords: Vygotsky and emotion. The search has created 108 documents that were imported and run in the Bibliometrix package. When running the program, 5 research niches (clusters) have been identified. An analysis of each cluster is presented, as well as references of the main works and the theme that unites them. Among the most relevant works are: Vygotsky (1971) and Van Der Veer and Valsiner (1994); followed by Holodynski (2013), Ratner (2000) and Vygotsky (1978), these works are the main works of each cluster. Thus, this work helps researchers, who seek to delve into the study of emotions in Vygotsky, to identify the main works, researches and authors that study the theme and which are the main references for future studies.
