The objective of the article is to analyze the flow of the Brazilian Psychiatric Reform from the colonial, classist, racist and patriarcal lines that mark the country´s social and economic formation. This discussion, focused on the dimensions of class, gender and race/ethnicity, was erased during the process of construction, implementation and effectiveness of mental health and psychosocial care policies.
