To consider the marks of discursivity inserted in a paradigmatic process is to understand the constitution of concepts and conceptions present in society. This article, the result of the clipping of a doctoral research, aims to present reflections that appear as tensions in contemporaneity, especially regarding the feelings of social devaluation that early childhood education teachers feel about their professional performance. The debate about the concept of identity related to the teaching function in early childhood education and the discussion with regard to it through discourses or actions.
