Abstract

Designing: Design a product innovation procedure, through the use of its functions and tools, for the satisfaction of customers in the Weddings and Honeymoon segment at the Meliá Jardines del Rey Hotel. Methods: Theoretical methods such as historical-logical, analysis-synthesis, induction-deduction, the systemic research method and documentary analysis were used; empirical methods such as interview, observation, survey and measurement. Main results: A product innovation procedure was designed that, using its functions and tools, generates new or improved products for the satisfaction of customers in the Weddings and Honeymoon segment at the facility. Its application in the Hotel Melia Jardines del Rey made it possible to develop new or improved products for the Weddings and Honeymoon coordination process as well as to identify the functions and tools that most impact this generation. Conclusions: The proposed tourism product innovation procedure, considering its functions and tools, is presented in 3 phases where the monitoring function was the one with the greatest impact on the generation of new and improved products for the satisfaction of Weddings and Honeymoon customers at the Hotel Melia Jardines del Rey. The theoretical analysis of the Weddings and Honeymoon coordination process and the innovation of tourism products, allowed to establish a relationship between them and the innovative activity and reveal from the functions and tools of product innovation, the relational functioning of the same for the satisfaction of the customers with new and improved tourism products.
