FROM WRITING TO TRANSLATION/INTERPRETATION IN SIGN LANGUAGE: MULTIMODAL PRODUCTION IN THE LIBRAS COURSE

This study presents a pedagogical experience carried out in the community course on teaching Libras promoted by the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul for the community in general. In order to do so, it reflects on a multimodal textual production done by the students as the final evaluation process in the course in a collaborative way. The use of the design thinking approach guided the didactic-methodological processes for multimodal production. Their resulting production shows that it is possible to promote the linguistic accessibility of a textual production with the use of translation/interpretation of Libras, through the mobilization and collaboration of professors and students with the use of technology. The multimodal textual production was configured in book format, with the written record of the Portuguese language and photographic records of Libras. In the end, it was identified as a narrative capable of transforming the linguistic experience of those involved (hearing students) with Brazilian Sign Language, being an alternative to spread Libras, intertwining it with written productions.
