Continuing education plays an essential role in the careers of professionals, especially in the field of Education, due to the speed at which society, knowledge and technology evolve. Educators must qualify themselves to rethink their classroom practices. Additionally, just as teachers need to reflect on their "praxis," teacher educators must do the same regarding their teaching approaches and the effectiveness of their training. The aim of this study was to measure the effectiveness of specific moments in two continuing education courses aimed at educators. Data were collected from participants in the training sessions, teachers from both public and private school networks in different states of Brazil. Data collection occurred in two phases, and the results showed that the approaches that received a higher degree of satisfaction or content absorption were the most interactive and reflective moments, as well as practical activities followed by reflections. We conclude that continuing education is essential for the ongoing professional development of educators. However, the proposed activities should be critically considered to ensure constant and meaningful evolution, along with the participation of trainers in discussing the real problems presented in the school environment.
