The theoretical foundations of masculinist political thought in Brazil: an analysis of the work of Nessahan Alita

Abstract

This article aims to examine and elucidate the foundations of Nessahan Alita’s political thought, positioning him as one of the leading ideologues in Brazilian masculinist discourse. It seeks to determine whether his ideas present unique differences compared to masculinist theories analyzed by foreign bibliographic references. The study was conducted through a documentary approach, analyzing the totality of Alita's published works. The main conclusions reached were: I) that Nessahan Alita’s writings contain a discernible and systematizable political thought; II) that the author presents unique specificities when compared to foreign masculinist discourse, thereby offering a counter-argument to the model proposed by Debbie Ging (2017); and III) that Alita's political thought is marked by an extreme masculininist authoritarianism that aims to severely restrict women’s autonomy and freedom in favor of masculine dominance
