The “motosserrar” the state and society: the politics of exposition of the ultraliberal and dependent government of Javier Milei in contemporary Argentina

Abstract

The article aims to analyze the use of the concept of "exposure policy" to explain governments that deepen social helplessness and vulnerability by promoting a discursive practice around the intransigent defense of individual freedoms, taking as a case study the Javier Milei government in contemporary Argentina, observing its dependent, neoliberal, ultraliberal and right-wing extremist characteristics, analyzing aspects of national sovereignty, the general impoverishment of the population and a political order organized by vital competitionalism, the de-accountability of the state with public social policies and the surrender of these responsibilities to private or private entities of society, atomizing the lives of individuals, who begin to understand themselves as actors of a field of disputes over economic resources and the naturalization of survival of the most fit (or strong) to neoliberal competition regimes. The object of investigation are the effects of power arising from the implementation of the "Motoserra Plan" of Milei, in Argentina, from the articulation of a methodological procedure under development: ethnogenealogical cartography in documents. The preliminary conclusions of the investigation are that the power effects arising from Milei’s government practices and tactics produce new characteristics to the concept of exposure policy, like the reproduction of the logic of the surrender of state responsibilities to private and private entities in Argentine foreign policy and the production of an extremist right-wing subjectivity active and engaged in survival to the conditions of the risks of social vulnerabilities, reinforcing the discourse of freedoms as a promoter of political radicalizations.
