The aim of this study is to identify and analyze the characteristics of scientific production that report cases of inseparability or integration among teaching, research, and outreach in Brazil. The guiding questions were: “What is the pattern of author productivity?”, “What is the pattern of publication in journals and institutions?”, “What are the thematic and disciplinary focuses?”, and “What are the characteristics of the reported practices?”. A mixed-methods approach was adopted, using bibliometric techniques and thematic analysis, based on data from the Periódicos CAPES and Dimensions.ia databases. The searches were conducted in March 2024, with no time filters, resulting in 1,719 records, from which 223 articles published between 2005 and 2024 were selected. Based on the results, it is concluded that there has been growth in national journal publications, especially since 2014; most authors have only one publication, with authors from USP, UFSC, and UNESP standing out. Education, Health Sciences, and Biomedicine were the most frequent areas. Among the 142 fully analyzed articles, the predominant practices had the following characteristics: projects; developed by specific faculty members and students; lasting over one year; and carried out in off-campus environments.
