This article analyzes the weakening of the Name-of-the-Father function and its implications for contemporary malaise, from the perspective of Freudo-Lacanian psychoanalysis. Contemporary social and cultural transformations directly interfere with the subject's symbolic structure, fostering the emergence of new modes of psychic suffering. The literature review is based on classical and contemporary authors of psychoanalysis. The objective of the article is to discuss the growing fragility of symbolic references and its consequences for both psychoanalytic clinical practice and society.
