Abstract

Open Education draws attention to teaching and learning processes by emphasizing collaboration in content creation; therefore, understanding its practical impact compared to traditional teaching models is necessary. The study reviewed the influence of Open Educational Resources (OER) on teaching and learning processes in the global academic context during the 2021–2025 period. We used a systematic review methodology based on the PRISMA statement, mapped the ERIC, Google Scholar, "La Referencia," and Dialnet databases and repositories, and selected 33 studies for analysis. The results show that OER's impact involved designing useful tools to reinforce higher-order cognitive skills and foster the development of collaborative learning communities, which, in turn, shape the redesign of teaching and learning methods to create inclusive and collaborative experiences.
