This text presents the Operational Concepts that contributed to the origin of the Professional Master's Dissertation in Education entitled "From Text to Context, From Image to Sound: A Historical-Political Proposal for the Elaboration of a Curriculum in Music Education," developed within Research Line 2: Language and Arts in Educational Contexts, of the Postgraduate Program in Education at the State University of Rio Grande do Sul. The study aimed to develop a curriculum proposal in Music Education for the Gaspar Silveira Martins School, emphasizing its historical-social context and Public Policies for the operationalization of music teaching in Basic Education. In this sense, six reflective axes are presented: I – The pillars of education, II – Philosophy of education, III – Anthropology of music education, IV – Policies for the operationalization of music education in Basic Education, V – Skills and Competencies, and VI – Music in the National Common Curricular Base. This excerpt proposes a reflection on Time, Space, Education, and Music as guiding principles for educational-musical thought.
