Initial teacher training should include preparation for conscious and responsible participation in digital spaces, encouraging students and teachers’ critical reflection on the use of technologies and challenges posed by its absence. This paper analyzes the perceptions of Pedagogy students that emerged from a pedagogical proposal developed with a focus on the teaching of digital citizenship, designed to incorporate Digital Information and Communication Technologies (DICT) into teaching practices, within a critical, ethical, and responsible perspective. This is a qualitative, applied research conducted in the form of action research. The participants were the professor responsible for the subject “Knowledge and Methodologies for Science Teaching” and 30 undergraduate students. The results revealed the development of digital skills related to critical thinking, ethics and responsibility, increasing future teachers' awareness of misinformation, privacy, authorship, and digital well-being. Accordingly, the conclusion is that the proposal provides support for the transversal integration of digital citizenship into initial teacher training, contributing to teaching practices aligned with the demands of
cyberculture.
