One of the ways to stimulate learning in the classroom is through the efficient use of the Textbook. From the reading and, consequently, the production of texts, which value the study of Semantics, it is possible to help teachers and students in the interpretation of the meaning and sense of words, phrases and expressions. From this perspective, we consider it essential to value the knowledge acquired by students throughout their lives, which should be used in written materials, through the memory factor, where they will be emphasized, effectively expanding knowledge. Our corpus consists of the Didactic Books “Se Liga na Língua: Reading, text production and language” –7th grade, by de Ormundo e Siniscalchi (2018). We intend to understand how the teaching of the Semantics of the Portuguese Language helps in the Textual Production of Elementary School students – Final Years. The methodological procedures used were qualitative analysis, documental, exploratory and explanatory research, with theoretical foundations in Semantics by authors such as: Ullmann (1964); Ferrarezi Jr. (2008, 2010 and 2019); Ferrarezi Jr. and Basso (2013); between others. We observed that it is possible to expand the semantic study, based on the Textbook beyond the formal study, for example the phenomenon of ambiguity, caused bypolisemy, that it is a léxicon that can be associated with more than one meaning, through Cultural Semantics and Semantics of Contexts and Scenarios to identify the meaning of the context (environment) and scenario (extralinguistic elements) of the textual genre advertisement in the teaching-learning process.
