This study investigates the use of LGBTQIAPN+ literature in high school Portuguese language classes taught by public school educators in Salvador and the Metropolitan Region. Using a qualitative-quantitative approach, the research draws on teachers' reported experiences, focusing on the challenges and possibilities associated with incorporating this literature into the classroom. Data were collected through a questionnaire distributed between August and October 2024. The findings reveal an alarmingly low incorporation of LGBTQIAPN+ literature, with 84.2% of teachers reporting that they do not conduct activities related to the topic. These results underscore the urgent need to rethink pedagogical practices in order to foster a more inclusive and diverse educational environment.
