Abstract

This article aims to reflect on the theme of everyday life as the place of the curriculum in daycare centers and kindergartens, based on the conception of early childhood education proposed by Loris Malaguzzi (1920-1994, Italy), creator of what we know as the "Reggio Emilia Approach," in dialogue with some Freirean concepts. In response to the question of what can be (re)thought about a curriculum for early childhood education in Brazil, a bibliographical research was conducted highlighting the concepts of everyday life, planning, pedagogical documentation, and the workshop, in conjunction with Freirean concepts of freedom and beauty, as ethics and aesthetics of an education that fosters learning where concepts are forged by childhood and not by the educator. The results present us with a vision of education as formation and process, for and with children, contrasting with the model of curriculum constructed around a product.
