Abstract

The present research aims to analyze the bibliographic references, specifically those used in the Psychology of Education discipline of Pedagogy courses, at public Higher Education Institutions – HEIs in the state of Paraná, in the period of 2018 and 2019. To this end, I described the beginning of the dissemination of Jean Piaget's ideas in Brazil, in order to understand how the propagation of this scholar's ideas related to education occurred in the country, so that it would be possible to discuss the repercussions of interpretations of Piagetian theory that do not consider its complexity and theoretical-methodological position, so that it is not explained out of context, with partial readings, and with statements that the author never made, but which can result in currents of misinterpretations. Thus, based on a documentary research, after reading the selected references, the data treatment used the unit of analysis classified into five thematic categories adapted from Fabril (2008), namely: Piaget's Biography, Theoretical proposal, Method, Concepts, and Limits and Possibilities of the theory. Finally, this research can provide subsidies for the redefinition of criteria to be used in the elaboration of curricula and syllabi of undergraduate courses, improving the quality of training and performance of education professionals regarding the Piagetian approach.
