In this paper, I present a discussion of how certain concepts used to think about "difference", such as Culture, Ethnicity, and Identity, produce what I call “objectification”, that is, the tendency to transform the concept into a thing. I also propose an alternative to avoid objectification, which I call “acceleration”.
