Abstract

Climate change has highlighted the urgency to reassess the current model of resource and energy production and consumption, particularly in sectors such as public transportation. This study focuses on the "Mi Transporte" transport system in the metropolis of Guadalajara, under the route-company scheme, with a specific analysis on the Troncal 05. López Mateos (T05) route. It addresses the characterization of the technical fare, incorporating both local and international contexts, and using data from the 2016 National Household Income and Expenditure Survey (ENIGH) and other relevant sources. This work employs a quantitative methodology to analyze demand elasticities and indicators of urban transport services, assessing the impact of the technical fare on users and the sector between 2018 and 2019. Additionally, an Economic Evaluation of the trunk corridors of public transport from the General Transport Program of the state of Jalisco was conducted, analyzing cost structures, service revenues, and key financial indicators.

The results enable decision-makers and public transport operators to understand how to establish fair and sustainable technical fares, as well as to identify the main challenges in the sector. The study aims to answer key questions about how the "Mi Transporte" Integrated Transport Model contributes to establishing a fair and sustainable technical fare, its cost structure, and how factors such as demand and public policies affect these fares in the metropolis of Guadalajara, specifically on the Troncal 05. López Mateos. This analysis is crucial for future urban mobility, transportation, and territorial planning projects in the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area (AMG).
