Abstract

This article aims to present a mapping of scientific productions, published from 2020 to 2023, on the potential and applicability of Artificial Intelligence for the teaching and learning of Mathematics in Basic Education. To this end, we used the Systematic Literature Review methodology, analyzing the research published in the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations, using the descriptors “Mathematical Artificial Intelligence”, “Artificial Intelligence in Basic Education” and “Artificial Intelligence in Mathematics for Basic Education”, choosing four studies to compose this review. The conclusions give us a glimpse of the role of Artificial Intelligence as an ally in teaching and learning processes, especially today, when the use of these technologies is increasingly in vogue. Although the research shows significant progress, it also highlights challenges, such as teacher training for the use of Artificial Intelligence and the need to ensure a pedagogical approach with intentionality that balances its use.
