This article aims to map and analyze the academic production that discusses large-scale educational assessment in relation to socio-emotional skills, based on articles published in journals, with the goal of understanding the bibliometric characteristics, as well as the contents of what has been studied, identifying trends and gaps that have yet to be explored. Methodologically, this is a quantitative-qualitative research study of academic production mapping, of the integrative review type. The sources include 46 articles published in 36 journals, obtained from a survey conducted in the Web of Science, Scopus, Scielo, and Iresie databases. Initially, we observed a wide distribution in the publications, with authors from 28 countries across all continents discussing the topic, indicating that this seems to be a global agenda. Within this universe of countries, we found only three from Latin America, which speaks volumes about the concentration of these studies and the marginalization of Latin America in an international academic context. Moreover, the analysis of the articles highlights three main areas based on their contents: 1) large-scale educational assessment, education, and socio-emotional skills (direct relation to the theme); 2) evaluation of programs implemented in certain countries and/or states and socio-emotional learning instruments in educational psychology; 3) the health field with an emphasis on human behavior psychology and mental processes (cross-cutting relation to the theme). It is important to note that large-scale educational assessments are key drivers of discussions regarding the peculiarities of educational systems.
