Stimulating babies from birth is essential for their psychomotor, intellectual, affective and social development. It is in early childhood that babies develop knowledge about themselves, about the world, about nature, from the relationships they establish with others and with the social environment. This article discusses the relevance of babies stimulation. Part of the problem: what do academic productions understand about the relevance of stimulation for the development of babies? It aims to understand the relevance of stimulation in the development process of babies. It is a theoretical and bibliographic study and assumes as an interface the dialectical theoretical and methodological perspective for the understanding of human development. From the procedural point of view, it is oriented, referenced in the Thematic Analysis (TA) proposed by Braun and Clarke, to read, analyze and interpret the previous themes established: early stimulation and stimulation and development of babies. The reflection recognizes the centrality of the stimulation of babies, through interactions and games, which is why the spaces and times of daycare centers, aimed at babies, are fundamental for their development.
