Abstract

This case study explores the teaching of computational thinking and the concept of algorithms to second graders in elementary school, with practical and playful activities based on everyday situations. The objective was to introduce children to logical reasoning and the sequential structure necessary for the functioning of digital technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI). Two main activities were carried out: a "Brushing Teeth" activity and a "Getting to School" activity, in which students organized routine steps in a logical order. The results showed that students understood the importance of sequence and planning, discussing how changes in the steps affect the final result. The conclusion highlights that, by presenting algorithms in a playful way, the school helps to form a foundation for learning essential technological skills in today's society.
