The present work aims to analyze the profile of students that entering in the Federal Institute of Brasília (IFB) in the 2018-2022 five-years period, based on the assumption that access to education has to be based on democracy, covering all parts of the population, including the most vulnerable from a social, cultural and economic point of view. The objective was made to verify how this profile is traced according to the means of selection process adopted in the institution. The analysis of data on freshmen, graduates and the form of admission is the basis of analysis of this work to understand why a certain section of the population is covered and is more successful in terms of completing their studies at the institution than of other institutions that make up the same.
