The use of Popular Science (PS) in school spaces is associated with different ways of promoting the approximation of science with students, in addition to contributing to the understanding of the world, in the development of reasoning, reading and scientific writing. Thus, it is important to highlight the role played by the professor as a mediator of activities related to PS. In this sense, this research aims to investigate how Brazilian teachers of Natural Sciences use PS during their pedagogical practices. Ten teachers were interviewed and their speeches were transcribed and analyzed according to content analysis. The results indicated that teachers use PS activities, but not as often as they would like. However, it was noted that these educators have different purposes for using PS and have future plans to expand its use in their routines. Finally, we emphasize that the interviews provided moments of dialogue with the teachers and with this, it was possible to investigate the teachers' motivations and perspectives on PS and its use in educational practices.
