Abstract

This paper discusses core principles such as play, collaboration, and agency that support the online workshops offered by the Global Play Brigade (GPB), an international community of activists from different areas, who got together to fight against the global crisis that threatened the world in so many ways due to the covid-19 pandemic. To exemplify part of the theoretical and methodological approach involved in the plan and, the workshop, as well as its goals and one of the sessions, will be described along with perspectives aligned to Spinoza, Vygotsky, Freire, and some other authors to promote understanding of how people can be affected towards social change. It is known that there are many facets to the current turmoil, so the GPB seeks to create spaces in which creativity and critical thinking can create possibilities for emotional support, development, hope, and action.

José Carlos Lopes, FATEC São Paulo e na Faculdade Méliès

José Carlos Barbosa Lopes is a Ph.D. student and a Master in Applied Linguistics and Language Studies at the Catholic University of São Paulo (PUCSP), affiliated to the LACE Research Group - Language in Activity in the School Context. He has experience as an English teacher in public and private Elementary Schools and High Schools, language institutes, and online courses. Currently, he is a professor in Higher Education at FATEC São Paulo and at Faculdade Méliès.

Daniela Vendramini-Zanella, Universidade de Sorocaba

Daniela Vendramini-Zanella gained a PhD in Applied Linguistics and Language Studies at the Catholic University of Sao Paulo (PUC-SP) and a Master’s in education at University of Sorocaba. She is currently coordinator and professor of Higher education on Language Studies (Portuguese and English and Literatures) at Uniso Course. She is affiliated to LACE Research Group - Language in Activity in the School Context. and leader of CNPq´s Research Group “Formação docente na perspectiva da TASHC e linguagem”. Valdite Pereira Fuga, Faculdade de Tecnologia de Mogi das Cruzes

Valdite Pereira Fuga is a postdoctoral student, Ph.D and Master’s in Applied Linguistics and Language Studies at the Catholic University of São Paulo ( PUC-SP), affiliated to the LACE Research Group - Language in Activity in the School Context. She graduated in Language Studies (Portuguese and English) and in Mathematics at Mogi das Cruzes University. Currently, she is a professor in Higher Education at Faculdade de Tecnologia de Mogi das Cruzes. At the moment, she attends post-doctoral studies at PUC-SP.
