PORTRAIT MOTHER'S NARRATIVES IN THE ACADEMIC CONTEXT

Gender-related issues, more specifically, about the maternity, have been documented as important challenges to be overcome in the academic environment and need to be investigated so that a better understanding can occur, generating possibilities of support and favorable conditions for the full development of academic training. with equal conditions. The study aimed to reflect on the space of mothers in the Brazilian public university, as protagonists of their educational process, thus enabling the construction of possible protection factors that guarantee their maintenace in the university and in equity relative to the other students. For the construction of the work, we did a literature review and construction of a field research at a Brazilian public university. As a result, in general, the multiple roles of mothers (maternity, domestic, academic and extra-university activities) were identified. The findings are expected to contribute to the construction of a more inclusive environment, which respects motherhood and contributes to the formation of a more inclusive society.
