The internationalization of higher education has intensified with globalization, technological advances and easiness of communications and mobilities. Due to the dynamism of this process and an increasingly accelerated scenario, it is important that higher education institutions keep up with these changes. The aim of this study is to identify and evaluate scientific articles that investigate the models and processes of internationalization of higher education in Latin American universities. Method: for this, the method used to achieve the research objective is the systematic review of the literature, analyzing scientific articles with four indexed databases between 2015-2020. Conclusion: The main contributions brought by the research are: the perception of how the theme has been discussed and developed by Latin American countries, which countries have carried out more research in the defined interval and how the internationalization of higher education is seen and applied by the countries.
