There are images whose evocative power instinctively stirs the mind and immediately provokes it to speculate. The conflict between Arachne and Athena and the mortal's metamorphosis which follows, falls, in many respects, into this category. The present text goes to meet this primordial conflict to analyze the work of Clarice Lispector from the perspective of a feminine confrontation which would inaugurate a “community of women” around literary creation. The struggle between the goddess and the Lydian is a “mirror” of the lively battle that creators must wage to achieve their work, their text.
