This article presents reflections on the intersections between Artificial Intelligence and Professional and Technological Education, highlighting the complexity of Artificial Intelligence as a technology integrated into the working world and educational practice. Artificial Intelligence, characterized by its capacity for data analysis and complex decisions, raises ethical and practical questions in social life and in the training of workers. The debate ranges from economic and social impacts to global regulation, emphasizing the need for critical approaches to technological transformations in the educational process. The evolution of work and education, from primitive societies to the era of artificial intelligence, are also brought up for analysis, with an emphasis on the transformations that arise with the emergence of Artificial Intelligence, which require changes in the educational system, but which do not point to overcoming historical structural dualities. The impact of artificial intelligence on human formation is also discussed, highlighting concerns such as algorithmic bias, anthropomorphization and human rights. Finally, interdisciplinarity is presented as a fundamental perspective for reflecting on these challenges, enabling students to understand the social and ethical impacts of Artificial Intelligence. Besides presenting some topics that relate Artificial Intelligence and Professional and Technological Education, the article seeks to draw attention to the degree of complexity and possible problems that can be faced with the escalation of this type of technology, highlighting the importance of polytechnic or omnilateral education.
