With reference to an infographic that suggests strategies for counseling on physical activity (PA), this essay was prepared with the aim of reflecting on it and adapting it to the reality of primary health care (PHC) oh the Unified Health System (SUS). Justifications for brief counseling in PHC and strategies on 'how to counsel' are presented, based on: Respect for the uniqueness of people and their possibilities; Recognition of opportunities and barriers; (Re)knowledge of the intersectoral network for promoting PA; and Popular health education. The challenges are also brought, with emphasis on digital health strategies and the education and training of health professionals. In conclusion, it is argued that there is potential for expanding access to PA through brief counseling in PHC.
