In this essay, we question the ethical dimension of the heuristics and linguistic pedagogies within the scenario of language ecologies, policies and rights (Rajagopalan, 2013, 2011, 2003; Guimarães, 2002; Sigales-Gonçalves, 2020; Lagares, 2018; Spolsky, 2016; Cooper, 1989; Abreu, 2016, 2018; Zimmermman, 1999; Geraldi, 2010). We assume, based on moral philosophy (Bajtín, 1997), that heuristics and pedagogy are moments of responsibility (Bakhtin, 1997), in a way that these moments find their beginning and end in life. We situate the scenario of the active force of the State on stratifications of social languages and linguistic groups (Abreu, 2016). We highlight the imperative to illuminate, particularly, the linguistic pedagogies of the Portuguese language discipline, based on ethical, moral, and political principles concerning legal custody of languages and linguistic groups, and application of social forces on linguistic behaviors.
